Introduction
This privacy policy explains how Vitality Housekeeping collects, uses and protects your personal information when you visit this website, get in touch, or become a client. I take your privacy seriously, and I want you to feel just as confident about how your information is handled as you do about the care I take of your home.
Who we are
Vitality Housekeeping is run by Jonathan Cattell, operating as a sole trader providing cleaning, housekeeping and practical home management services across Market Harborough, The Langtons, Kibworth, Great Glen and surrounding villages.
For the purposes of data protection law, I am the "data controller" of the personal information described in this policy.

What information I collect
Depending on how you interact with Vitality Housekeeping, I may collect:
Your name, address and contact details (phone number and email address)
Details you share about your household, your priorities and the service you're interested in
Information relating to home access, such as key-holding or alarm arrangements, where you've asked for this service
Payment details relevant to invoicing (I do not store full card details)
Any correspondence between us, including messages sent via WhatsApp, email or the website contact form
Basic technical information about how you use this website (see the Cookies section below)
How I collect your information
I collect personal information when you:
Complete a contact or enquiry form on this website
Message me directly via WhatsApp, phone or email
Book or attend a home consultation
Become a client of Vitality Housekeeping
Browse this website (via cookies or similar technology, where applicable)
How I use your information
I use your personal information to:
Respond to your enquiry and arrange a home consultation
Provide, manage and invoice for the services you've booked
Understand your household's priorities so the service can be tailored properly
Manage secure key-holding arrangements, where agreed
Keep records for accounting and legal purposes
Send you information directly relevant to your service, such as scheduling updates
The lawful bases I rely on for this processing are:
Contract: where processing is necessary to provide the service you've asked for
Legitimate interests: where it's reasonably necessary to run and improve Vitality Housekeeping, such as responding to enquiries or keeping basic business records
Legal obligation: where I'm required to keep certain records, such as for tax purposes
Consent: where you've specifically agreed to something, such as receiving marketing updates. You can withdraw this consent at any time.
Home access and key-holding
If you use the key-holder service, any keys and related access information are kept securely and are never labelled with your name or address. Access arrangements are only used for the purpose you've agreed, and you can review or end a key-holding arrangement at any time.
Sharing your information
I don't sell or rent your personal information to anyone. I may share it with:
Professional advisers, such as an accountant, where necessary for bookkeeping and tax purposes
Service providers who support the running of the business, such as Xero and GHL
Authorities where I'm legally required to do so, such as HMRC
Any third party handling your information on my behalf is required to keep it secure and to only use it for the purpose agreed.
How long I keep your information
I keep client information for as long as you're a client, and for a further period afterwards where I'm legally required to, such as financial records that must be retained for six years for tax purposes. Enquiry details from people who don't go on to become clients are kept for a reasonable period and then deleted.
Keeping your information secure
I take reasonable steps to protect your personal information, including keeping records and access details secure and limiting who can see them. As a small, personally run business, I am the only person with access to your information unless a third party listed above is involved.

This website may use cookies or similar technology to help it function properly and to understand how visitors use it, for example through [ANALYTICS TOOL, E.G. GOOGLE ANALYTICS,]. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings at any time. Disabling cookies shouldn't affect your ability to browse the website, though some features may not work as intended.

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
Ask what personal information I hold about you
Ask me to correct anything that's inaccurate or incomplete
Ask me to delete your information, where there's no legal reason for me to keep it

Object to certain types of processing, including marketing
Ask for your information in a portable format
To exercise any of these rights, contact me using the details above. I'll respond within one month.
